Henry's Midtown Tavern - Final Stop of Eat the Peachtree 2015 Pub and Restaurant Crawl!

Henry's Midtown Tavern is the 8th of 8 stops as part of "Eat the Peachtree 2015 - Electric Boogaloo!" - this is the return of the world's largest world's largest 10K-themed pub crawl. 10 8 clicks, 10 8 stops, 10 8 dishes, 10 8 drinks. 1 epic afternoon. Locate all the posts along with an intro if you search my blog with ETP2015. We walked from restaurant to restaurant in search of the best flavors and drinking venues in Atlanta, while enjoying the same sights as you would while running the Peachtree Road Race.

You can find Henry's at 132 10th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 on the left driving towards Piedmont Park. This used to be the location of Jock's and Jill's back in the day. The bar is extensive and well maintained with great outdoor seating.

As the last location on our ETP 2015 Itinerary, we sat and enjoyed the air conditioning and watched the opening of the Women's World Cup on several of the many flat panel TVs littered throughout the space. The crowd here was very enthusiastic and enthralled by what was happening on screen.

The interior is quite a bit nicer than the exterior with higher end finishes and more upscale furnishings, atypical of a pub.

The menu is fairly extensive with many pub-food style options. After looking things over and deciding to skip the hotdogs, we settled on some apps.

We also enjoyed a few cocktails, of course.

For apps we did the parmesian fries and the chili fries. While these were OK, they weren't anything special, pretty much typical bar food. They can on waxed paper atop pie pans. The parmesian fries were served with two sauces, a spicy ketchup (it wasn't very spicy nor very sweet) and a garlic aioli.

As the final stop, we entertained the idea of heading over to Takorea for one final swig of liquor and juicy Korean BBQ taco, but then decided to call it a day. I liked this venue quite a bit and could see myself having quite a few cocktails. Unfortunately we were all fairly spent by the time we got here (did I mention it was hot?) and with it being a school day decided not to "take it to 11." It was about 7:30 PM or so when we completed ETP 2015!

So once again, it's with a heartfelt and slightly sad "goodbye" and hugs all around as we went our various map directions homeward bound.

Exxon Uptown Station - Brookwood - 6th Stop of Eat the Peachtree 2015 Pub and Restaurant Crawl!

Exxon Uptown Station  is the 6th of 8 stops as part of "Eat the Peachtree 2015 - Electric Boogaloo!" - this is the return of the world's largest world's largest 10K-themed pub crawl.

You can find Exxon Uptown Station at 1521 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 in Brookwood on the left driving towards Midtown. It's in the same gas station which ended up being a default during ETP 2014 last year (LPC was closed when we came by). So to honor that event we included it this year.

The interior is surprisingly spacious and the guy behind the counter quite kind and accommodating - we must not be the first drunks he's had wander in from the street...

Of course the food and drink selection is what matters...

We enjoyed our victuals out in the sun in a park-like setting...

Final stop, Henry's!

Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro - Midtown - 7th Stop of Eat the Peachtree 2015 Pub and Restaurant Crawl!

Tamarind Seed Thai Bistro is the 7th of 8 stops as part of "Eat the Peachtree 2015 - Electric Boogaloo!" - this is the return of the world's largest world's largest 10K-themed pub crawl.

You can find Saltyard at 1197 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30361 on the left driving towards Midtown in front of Colony Square Mall. This is a fantastic location that's usually quite busy - lucky for us it's a Sunday!

The Tuk Tuk (auto-rickshaw in India) is something to see and (as you can see in a bit) a way to remember dining at Tamarind Seed. It was a bit too hot to sit outside and really, we'd been outside most of the day so the air conditioning was a welcome relief.

The interior is quite nice and more upscale than you would think from looking at the place from the outside. Plenty of open seating and the large windows allow for lots of natural light. I like the thematic artifacts - these are sensitive to Thai culture and well done.

There are multiple menus for food, drink, specials.... you name it. Most of the items will seem very similar to you if you have dined at other Thai restaurants. There are also photos of the major specials so you can see what you're getting.

The Crispy Whole Snapper in Basil Sauce looked delicious but perhaps a bit heavy to our on-foot-traveling crew.

Thai Singha Lager Beer was imbibed by most, with a few cocktails thrown in for good measure.

The Nam Sod was delicious - very fresh and tasty. We all enjoyed the spring rolls, basil rolls and chicken satay. I think I ate most of the pickled cukes that came with the Satay.

And for good measure, here's our crew and a few of us posing in the Tuk Tuk!

The service here was top notch and the food very good. I think you'll enjoy Tamarind Seed.

Saltyard - 5th Stop of Eat the Peachtree 2015 Pub and Restaurant Crawl!

Saltyard is the 5th of 8 stops as part of "Eat the Peachtree 2015 - Electric Boogaloo!" - this is the return of the world's largest world's largest 10K-themed pub crawl. 10 8 clicks, 10 8 stops, 10 8 dishes, 10 8 drinks. 1 epic afternoon. Notice that we decided to drop Varasano's Pizzaria as we had already substituted Thirteen Pies so the ETP 2015 is now down to 8 stops. We powered on from Holeman and Finch to one of my favorite restaurants, Saltyard!

You can find Saltyard at 1820 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30309 in Brookwood on the left driving towards Midtown. It's in the same low-rise and almost next door to Watershed, which was on the ETP 2014 itinerary last year.

The best part of coming here so early, hardly any customers! They were glad to see us and very accommodating - we stretched out in front of the bar.

Today's specials. As we looked them over I mentioned how this was one of the only places in town where I felt totally comfortable eating entirely from the veggie menu. Some awesome stuff here folks - do support our farm-to-table restaurants!

For drinks, we did A Step in the Right Direction, a Whisky Tango Foxtrot, a Lazy Ginger, and a That's Just Peachy...

For food we ordered the Lamb Kabob on White Bean Hummus and the Fried Brussel Sprouts (and believe me when I say these are the only Brussel Sprouts I've ever tried and actually liked)...

The service was amazballs, as usual and of course the company kick-ass. A good time was had by all.

Next stop, Uptown Station Exxon...
